“Give me a Man who is Man enough to give himself”
Sienna Miller as Francesca Bruni in Cassanova
It’s been a looooong looooong while since I added a new lady in this page and as an apology to my laziness I have updated this section with a brand new title and a new very Lois-a-like lady that everyone will love, the fictional character…FRANCESCA BRUNI
Who is she? Well if you’ve seen the 2005 movie “Casanova” will definitely know that she is the love of Giacomo Casanova’s life, Francesca Bruni who also happens to be the real identity of the church condemned heretical writer Bernardo Grudi. In 1753 Baroque period Venice, women were still shunned from the universities and considered by men as “Objects of earthly pleasures”. Francesca proved all of them wrong however by dressing up as a male university student, showing them that a woman can equally or even surpass the intelligence of the male majority even going as far as taking the name Bernardo Grudi to write philosophies that the church deemed blasphemous. She shunned the rakish advances of Senior Salvatore who claims to be her fiancé Lord Papprizio but who is really the infamous libertine Giacomo Casanova who took up various disguises to make a conquest out of her. From a masked fencing match to a hilarious chase and a battle of wits, it didn’t take long for the popular womanizer to fall head over heels in love with this woman whose writing goes totally against the likes of the Casanova himself. In the end love conquers all…and we’ve got another intelligent, strong and independent woman to add to our WOMEN who ROCK Hall of Fame.
